"Hot Edges"

Once a man has gone through a ROP experience there are many ways for him to keep the "edges  hot" by focusing his male spiritual energy in  directions that serve individuals and the community. If you have specific ways that have worked for you, feel free to e-mail your ideas to us.

1. Commit to affirming and blessing the younger men you encounter during the day either verbally or quietly in your heart.

2. Mentor younger men as a coach, scout leader, big brother, etc.

3. Become a catechist in your local parish with a special emphasis on sharing your spiritual path with adolescent boys.

4. Get involved as a sponsor for a prison inmate during the months before and after  his  release back into the community.

5. Volunteer at St. Joseph's Home or the Ronald McDonald house.

6. Volunteer to read to children at your local grade school.

7. Become an advocate for abused women caught up in the court system.

8. Talk to your male friends about the ROP and the importance of developing an  intentional spiritual path.

9. Become a member of a group of men committed to non-violence.

10.Volunteer your time to help with Habitat for Humanity, or explore the possibilities of  working with Global Volunteers.

11. Get involved in 'take back the night' gatherings in your   neighborhood.

12. Join or create a small group of men who gather regularly to deepen their spiritual path.

13. Commit to a regular practice of 'centering prayer'  on your own or in a group.

14. Worship regularly with your family and/or friends at Church.
