SANDSTONE WEEKEND

June 25-27, 2010 will be our FIRMING retreat for Initiated Men.  Save the weekend.  Firming is the weekend event designed by the broader MALES organization to follow-up (and deepen) our MROP experiences.
 

 Summer '10 ROP Retreat exclusively offered to anyone who has experienced the Rites of Passage retreat founded by Richard Rohr

FIRMING:  APPLYING THE RITES IN MY LIFE 

 
• Building on elements from the MROP weekend (the call to accountability, the true and the false self, the importance of dying before you die), we will explore the spirituality of the Prodigal Son at our MN 2010 FIRMING.

 
• FIRMING Retreats (from the acronym Fifth Initiation Rite for Men) are for initiated men.  They are meant to deepen
our initiation—specifically, our spiritual journey and our commitment to a radical Christian lifestyle.   They will take place every other summer, each with a different theme, so they can be done many times.  The theme of this year’s FIRMING Retreat is “The Prodigal Son.” 

(FIRMING Retreats will also be offered by other regional MALES groups throughout the country and the world.)    
 
WHO: Any man who has experienced a ROP.

To participate in a FIRMING Retreat, men are also expected to commit to a process of spiritual preparation beforehand.  
This process is called the JOURNEY OF ILLUMINATION (JOI).  The Journey of Illumination invites us to “step it up” in five areas:  prayer, gathering with others, meeting personally with another, letting go or releasing, and serving. These five areas challenge you to build upon your current journey.  We want guys to register as soon as possible so you have time to take preparation for the Firming seriously through engaging FULLY in JOI.  (WE'LL BE IN TOUCH ON JOI)
